6:50 – 7:00
National Night Out Planning Committee Formation

National Night Out is coming up (first Tuesday in August) and we would appreciate some assistance in the planning and execution of what will be our seventh annual flagship event. Whether you have lots of time you can share or just a little, we could use your help.

7:00 – 7:10
Traffic Calming Measures

We will be submitting a written proposal to our city leaders for some solutions to our high speed and reckless driving problem in and around our neighborhood. This is of elevated importance following the untimely and tragic death of a UTI student who was a passenger in a vehicle heading to school in the morning of January 14 — he was killed when the driver lost control of his car and slammed into a street light pole on Duckhorn Drive near Far Niente Way. Speed humps are not an option on Duckhorn Drive due to the nature of that thoroughfare, but there are things that can be done and we will discuss our proposed solution.

7:10 – 7:50
Sacramento Police Department

Barring unforeseen circumstances, we will be joined by Lieutenant Charles Husted, Sacramento Police Department’s watch commander for Natomas.

For this meeting we have asked to discuss and learn more about the following:

  1. Laptop theft at Starbucks on February 19 and subsequent arrest of suspect involved in similar crimes
  2. Burglary on Palmate Way on March 26 and subsequent arrest of three juveniles
  3. Old fashioned Neighborhood Watch basics
  4. Crime trends and notable apprehensions in Natomas over past ~90 days

7:50 – 8:00
Closing Thoughts & Follow-up Action Items

Notice: Out of courtesy to meeting attendees, audio and video recording is prohibited without (1) announcement to all in attendance in advance of commencing any recording, (2) approval of a majority of board members present, and (3) a legible sign being affixed on the meeting room door(s) to alert attendees arriving after the announcement is made.
