Listen to Police Department Radio

This is Sacramento Police Department’s radio channels 1 and 2 which most often covers the area of our city north of the American River, including Natomas. If there is law enforcement activity in our neighborhood, such as a helicopter overhead, you may be able to gather more information about the incident by listening to this feed.

If you are on a mobile device, you can download the Broadcastify app, search for scanner channels near you, then choose Sacramento City Police – North Command.

Channel 1 is North Area dispatch, covering all of the City of Sacramento north of the American River. This includes:

  • District 1
    • North Natomas
    • South Natomas
    • Gardenland/Northgate
  • District 2
    • Del Paso Heights
    • North Sacramento
    • Ben Ali
    • Hagginwood
    • Robla
    • Strawberry Manor
    • Swanston Estates
    • Point West
    • Woodlake
    • North Sacramento
    • Noralto

Channel 2 is a shared channel that is used by North Area officers at times. Most of the traffic you hear is Channel 1. Occasionally you will hear two officers agree to "go to 2" for a conversation than would be too long for the dispatch channel.

Sometimes the police department reduces the number of operating channels, so you might occasionally hear traffic relating to District 3 (River District / Richards Blvd., Downtown, East Sacramento, and River Park — basically everything inside City Limits north of US-50). This usually happens at night.
